Labor Laws Ensure Safety and Health
The Working Conditions Act aims to promote health, safety and welfare in the workplace. After all, the fewer work-related accidents, the better. Since its enactment in 1983, the law has been amended so that you, as an employer, are free to assume responsibility for your own safety, health and welfare.
Your Responsibility
You are the employer and so a safe and healthy work environment is your responsibility. Therefore, you must assess the work risks, formulate and implement administrative regulations, and ensure that they are adhered to. You must also evaluate the incorporated policies, as well as give training and instruction on the risks and their respective prevention policies.
The Labor Inspector will perform inspections on behalf of the government and can levy fines. In addition, a lot can be gained from a good safety, health and welfare policy in terms of production or neglect for illness and preventing damage to your reputation.
Quality and Environmental Protection
